SCM has been chosen as a technological partner by Dropcity, the new Milanese center dedicated to architecture and design, with the aim of providing professionals and students with a selection of cutting-edge technologies for woodworking and furniture.
The laboratory will be presented on April 3 and will remain open to the public until April 13 during Milan Design Week, pending the permanent opening scheduled for the autumn.
The Dropcity project was born in the former Magazzini Raccordati of the Central Station, a space of over 1,000 square meters dedicated to laboratories, research on materials and craftsmanship. Inside it also the largest and most advanced public carpentry in Milan, the Woodshop: 600 square meters equipped with SCM technologies, available to those who want to transform their ideas into concrete prototypes.
Among the installed SCM solutions: CNC work centers for drilling, nesting and pantographing, edgebanders, sanders and traditional machines, all chosen for their versatility, finishing quality and ability to work with new-generation materials.
The machines are equipped with Maestro active software, for an intuitive and uniform user interface, and CAD-CAM Maestro Lab, for simple and intelligent programming.
“We are proud to participate in the Dropcity project, bringing the best of our technologies to the service of today's and tomorrow's designers,” comments Gabriele Patti, SCM sales director. “An initiative that combines innovation, creativity and vision, values that we fully share.”
During the Salone del Mobile, from 7 to 11 April, SCM will open the doors of its Technology Center in Villasanta, where it will be possible to discover the solutions for surface finishing and woodworking live.
