Diversity, inclusion, openness... craftsmanship confirms itself as a powerful vehicle of messages for a better and more sustainable world. This is the mission behind ‘Homo Faber: The Journey of Life’, the international event scheduled from 1 to 30 September at the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice. The values underpinning the 2024 edition are also dear to San Patrignano, which has created an exclusive setting for the event: twenty-two columns of the former Salone Nautico, covered in gold leaf and meticulously decorated by the artisans from San Patrignano's decoration team, masters of world-class craftsmanship.. A masterpiece to which SCM also contributed with the machinery in the Community's Carpentry.
The collaboration between San Patrignano and SCM is a historic one, which has been going on for more than forty years and is still renewed today in the name of a common passion for wood and other strongly shared values such as corporate social responsibility, sustainability, the excellence of made in Italy design and, last but not least, the reintegration of the Community's young people into society and the world of work, once they have completed their rehabilitation. Without forgetting the value of technology: thanks to Carpentry machines and the new ‘starteck cn k’ cnc made available by SCM, the boys can try their hand at new works, such as designer objects.
It is a bond that continues and that excites, starting with the SCM employees who have personally, over all these years, followed the young people and those in charge of the cabinet-making shop to assist them in the use of the machinery and pass on all their skills with enthusiasm.
