The second day of Ligna 2017, the largest event dedicated to woodworking technologies, reached its peak with the Scm press conference. The managing director Andrea Aureli presented the excellent results of 2016, which closed with a turnover of 600 million Euro, an increase of 15% compared to 2015. But above all, he talked about the future with great optimism. There was also a lot of positivity in the words of Luigi De Vito, director of the Machinery Division. Just considering the woodworking sector, 2016 closed with a turnover of 430 million Euro. Also in this case, there has been a growth of 15%. The first quarter of 2017 opened with a double-figure growth in both orders and turnover.
The press conference was followed by a tour conducted by the technical director Federico Ratti, who showed journalists the many new developments that Scm has presented at Ligna 2017. The day was introduced by the communications director Gian Luca Fariselli, who stressed the role of the Scm Arena in this Ligna: a place for meeting and sharing Scm's expertise in the woodworking sector.
