The fifth episode in this series focuses the limelight on Professor Alessandro Pegoretti, Director of the department of industrial engineering at the University of Trento and Giacomo Barera, who is taking his industrial PhD at CMS as a materials expert.

The industrial PhD is a three-year course that involves a business-oriented research project and a training course thanks to the cooperation between a business, an industrial PhD student, and a university.

In an unusual role reversal, Giacomo Barera “is examining” Professor Alessandro Pegoretti on the results obtained during the first part of his PhD. The result is a very clear and technical report on the materials used for the additive manufacturing, the surprising developments in this field, and future expectations.
